Region: San Ignacio, Cajamarca
Producers: Cooperativa Agraria y de Servicios Múltiples de Productores Ecológicos San Ignacio (APESI)
Varietal: Pache, Caturra, Typica, Catimor
Altitude: 1,500-2,000 m.a.s.l
Tasting Notes: A well balanced cup with a full, smooth body and a delicious nutty sweetness. Floral & sweet, this is a bit cleaner and lighter than the average Peru. Low acidity with notes of chocolate, nuts & caramel throughout.
Roasting Notes: We like it at a light/medium roast but works great as a darker roast too!
Peru FTO APESI Co op - San Ignacio Double Certified - Per Kg
Peru FTO APESI is sourced from family owned farms organized around Agraria de Productores Ecologicos San Ignacio LTDA (APESI), which was established in 2011 to support organic coffee producers in the region of Cajamarca, Peru.
APESI provides training and financing aimed at improving coffee quality and yields to increase farmer earnings. Members of APESI are also investing in other businesses like honey production, fish farms, and citrus groves to diversify sources of income during the thin months when there is no income from coffee production.
